Epson has recently come out with a number of models of inkjet printers
that include a special tray for printing directly on a CD-R or DVD-R disc.
And of course SureThing CD/DVD Labeler supports them!
With print resolutions up to 5760x1440 dpi, the results can be spectacular.
Print your favorite backgrounds or try using a digital photo. The printers
start at around $99.
The Epson R800 printer demonstrates some of the highlights for this new
series of printers. It is a super quiet printer with 8 separate replaceable
ink cartridges including a special Gloss Optimizer ink. This printer uses
Epsons UltraChrome high gloss pigment ink which makes incredible
border free prints lasting up to 100 years.
When
printing directly to disc with these new Epson printers, you have two
media choices. First, you can buy specially coated discs suitable for
holding the ink sprayed onto it from the printer. These discs tend to
be a little harder to find (although you'll find them at SureThing.com)
and a bit more expensive.
Alternatively, you also can throw a normal label on a standard CD-R and
get great results. This means you can still get the great results from
SureThing SuperVibrant CD labels while printing directly to disc.
New Epson printer models supported in v4.2 include Epson Stylus Photo
900, 960, R200, R300 and R800
