iTunes is the latest music player from Apple and works with their iTunes
Music store where you can purchase downloadable song titles for 99 cents
each. It's cool, fun and easy.
Ever since the iTunes release for the PC, our support department has been
hearing it: "how can I import my iTunes playlists?". I quickly
put out a vbscript to import iTunes XML playlists into SureThing. (Just
in case someone wants to adapt the script for other purposes you can find
it here) I am not
an engineer, so this script is a bit of a hack-job, to say the least. Anyway,
the real engineers were set to the task, and now we have full iTunes library
and playlist support available in SureThing.
Quite simply, it fits right in with the other player support in SureThing.
Just go to Playlists>Import Playlist, and choose the option, "Import
the playlist from a player or burner".
Select "iTunes" from the 'Select Player or Burner' pulldown, and
you will see the iTunes library and playlists. You can import either in
SureThing. Here's how: iTunes Playlists:
If you've used iTunes to burn your CD, then your playlist will be available
here.
Select the playlist and click OK. It's that simple. The playlist will be
sent to the label, and then added to SureThing's playlist database.
iTunes Library:
If you haven't used iTunes to do your burning, you can use the iTunes library
to find a particular album. The library is sorted into Albums, Artists,
and Genres. ("All" is used to import the entire iTunes library
as one playlist.) Double-clicking on "Albums" will display a list
of all the albums in your iTunes library. Select an album, click OK, and
you are done.
If you can't remember an album name, just double-click on "Artist"
and select the artist's name. This will show all of the albums by that particular
artist. You can also select the "All" option to include every
track by that artist.
This is especially useful for mp3 CDs containing an entire catalog by a
certain artist. "Genres" is another top level category which displays
artists and albums which fit under a certain musical style.
Please keep letting us know when you need SureThing to do more.
