Pete's 3 CD-R Gift
Ideas |
Season's Greetings everyone! The holidays are my favorite
time of year. Snow, skiing, gifts, friends, family, big tasty meals, and
lots of alcohol always combine to create a warm holiday glow in my soul.
However, I often come up against a problem: Too many deserving people, and
not enough money. We all enjoy giving gifts, but sometimes our eyes are
bigger than our wallets. It happens to me every year... I get my family
shopping done, and my funds have run dry. This leaves my friends and business
associates with no gifts! Even worse, last year I remember getting many
gifts from these same people. What to do? While scanning my cubicle for
places to put my holiday decorations the answer came to me. Send them CD-Rs!
Here's three CD-R gifts you can make with SureThing CD Labeler and your CD
burner. You probably already have the CD-Rs,
jewel
cases, inserts,
and CD
labels laying around, so why not use them? |
For
me, it just wouldn't be Christmas without watching football to the tune
of Burl Ives' Holly Jolly Christmas. If you know anyone who loves
playing Christmas music around the holidays, why not send them a CD chock
full of Christmas songs? I've scoured the web for some free downloads and
gathered them at Freeburnguide.com. Click
here for the CD links and design files. |
Do
you know anyone who's new (or will be new) to the world of computers this
year? How about a friend who has no internet access, or is still on a dial-up?
Save them time and money and give them a CD-R packed with useful software.
The QA department at MicroVision has created a page of shareware, freeware
and open source programs that no computer user should be without. This is
also our chance to shine the spotlight on other shareware companies. (Happy
Holidays, Shareware Industry!) Click

A
photo CD makes a great personalized gift. A CD that includes pictures of
the kids, your last vacation, or humiliating party photos, is a great way
to show your friends and family just what you've been up to lately. Import
pictures from your digital camera, or scan them onto your hard drive. Burn
the photos to a CD and you are done. If you want to get fancy try making
a VCD which will play in most new DVD players. (See VCDHelp.com
for details.) And don't forget to read Sean
C's article for tips on creating a great personalized holiday label design.
Now I really can say, "Good will and happiness to all!", since
I've got everyone covered. If you need to send your new CD-R gifts, be sure
to check out our new CD
mailing envelopes. Happy Holidays! |
