Using the
New Circular Text Tool |
A
couple of months ago, Lance Armstrong won his 5th Tour de France,
The man is amazing. As the competition rises to meet his challenge,
he simply becomes an even stronger rider.
Much the same can be said for SureThing CD/DVD Labeler. Yes, I know.
Hardly comparable. But if you look at this objectively you can definitely
see that the SureThing feature set has evolved to make SureThing the
consummate CD/DVD Labeler.
One feature in particular is the Circular Text tool, which lets you
create text on a circular path. Copyright text, for instance, along
the edge of a CD is a good example. Alas, in versions prior to 4.0,
using text effects to accomplish this was somewhat difficult. If you
used the right size font and length of sentence, and, of course, sized
the box perfectly, and then placed the box just so, it looked really
good (and if you're still using an older version, here's
some info to help you use the tool). But version 4.0 changes all
that. Now it's so simple, even our sales and marketing folks can do
it!
In SureThing CD Labeler 4.0, all one needs to do to insert perfect
circular text is to choose "Insert Circular Text" from the
Insert menu or select "Add Circular Text" from the text
menu on the left hand side of your screen.
The new tool lets you quickly and easily create three different types
of circular text: circular, spiral and spokes (ah, so that's where
the bicycle analogies come in!).
Other key options available in the Circular Text dialog box are the
ability to edit the size, position, and rotation of the circular text,
change the color of the text and add enhancements such as drop shadows
and outlines.
SureThing CD/DVD Labeler 4.0 has new Smart Designs that use all of
these forms of Circular text. This will help you get the idea of how
they all work. Essentially though, they are very simple to use. Once
you have inserted that circular text simply click and drag the little
red boxes to adjust the size of the circle. Click and drag on the
little circular arrows to adjust the rotation of the circle.
Lately I’ve been playing with the Circular text tool and have
found that it makes a cool background effect over a solid background
color. Check this out!
To do this I simply entered tons and tons of S’s as my text
for the Spiral effect. It’s about 33 S’s per line and
about 43 lines. Changing the text size has a dramatic effect on how
it ends up looking. So does changing the letter!
SureThing CD Labeler 4 has more cool features than ever. The circular
text tool is a major upgrade over the circular text effects and is
sure to make your labels look cooler and more professional, faster! |
