Memorex DVD Video Cases, Black Standard Why do DVDs require a special storage device?
DVDs are made of two pieces of 0.6 mm polycarbonate bonded together by resin using a spin coating process. The
spin coating process is used most often because it provides a tighter bond between the two DVD halves. This
process spreads the resin outwards, which does not bond the center of the DVD. The lack of bonding at the center of
the disc leaves the hub very fragile and requires a friction free hub to prevent cracking and breaking. The Memorex
DVD Storage Case's patented locking hub is designed to provide a safe device to store DVDs. All Memorex DVD
Storage Cases are made out of polypropylene plastic which protects valuable DVDs from damage.
